Sunday School celebrates Advent!

Posted on

Advent got off to a wonderful start on Sunday, December 2 with the lighting of the first Advent candle by the Mirel family.  During Sunday School, the children made Advent wreaths of their own with greens graciously supplied by our own Jack Faddegon.  Thank you, Mr. Faddegon!  Thinking of others at this very special time of the year, the children also made Christmas cards that will be distributed to our own seniors and shut-ins, and they decorated Angels for our NorthernRivers Angel Wish tree.  Please show your own generosity by taking one of the angels and bringing back the item written on the angel.  Finally, the children heard the story of St. Nicholas, whose special day is celebrated on December 6.  St. Nicholas is widely known for his generosity to others, especially children.  And, in a perfect way to end this special day, our own St. Nicholas (Santa) paid us a visit during the Coffee Hour that was hosted by the Christian Education Committee (parents and teachers).  We all wish you a blessed and awesome Advent season!  (Please click on the photo to see a gallery from the day’s events.)
