Dug Jackson, Jeff Rivenburg, Ron Valenti, and John Moak represented Niskayuna Reformed Church yesterday, June 18 at this event held to raise donations for ShelterBoxUSA.org. Shelter boxes provide lifesaving shelter and supplies to people around the world displaced from their homes due to disaster or conflict. Jack Faddegon leads this effort as a Rotary Club member representing Niskayuna Reformed Church’s effort sustain this worthy cause.

The event itself is the largest event held at Mill Road Acres, 3-par golf course off of Route 7 near Peter Harris Plaza. It included a box lunch, awards and snacks. Prizes included some cash prizes for “Closest to the Pin”, Putting Contest, and Rounds of golf at twelve regional golf courses and country clubs.

NRC sponsored a hole (#12) Dug and Jeff each won a closest to the pin prize. Two years ago, we won big, but this year we were humbled, but happy. It was a great day – warm and sunny.
