Heartfelt thanks to our NRC volunteers Barb Valenti, Monica Tryon, Joan Peebles, Eileen Eldred, Michele and Bob for their help serving dinner Friday October 6 at the Schenectady City Mission. We donned our familiar red aprons, armed with pens and pads, to take orders and serve delicious homemade meals to 143 grateful diners.  This new system of offering meal choices has allowed for increased personal interaction between workers and customers, much like food establishments do outside the mission environment.  Dining has now become an activity that offers nourishment  paired with social time and friendship.
