Help to Support SICM’s Soup’er Bowl Collection

Posted on

Did you know that SICM – the Schenectady Inner City Ministry – offers free meals to those in need to ensure that everyone has access to healthy, nutritious food?

They offer free meals, bags of groceries from their food pantry, and a community garden to help residents have fresh and healthy food.

In 2016 more than 47,500 children, adults and seniors received groceries from SICM – that’s more than 430,000 meals!   Also, more than 3,500 households received bulk groceries from the Food Pantry.

SICM uses the resources of local faith-based organizations and congregations to support the needs of our local community.

This year again, SICM is holding its annual “Soup’er Bowl” drive to raise funds for its Emergency Food Pantry.

The Niskayuna Reformed Church has been volunteering with and Supporting SICM for many years and we’d like to ask you to join with us during the Sundays leading up to SuperBowl 52 by contributing to SICM’s  Soup’er Bowl 52 fund drive.

The Middle and High School students of our Sunday School will be walking through Fellowship Hall during the Sunday Coffee Hours on January 28 and February 4, and we hope that you will find it in your heart to make a donation to this very important cause.

THANK YOU for being the face of Jesus to our neighbors in need.
