Summer Sunday School Lesson #2 Coming Up

Posted on

Our 2018 Summer Sunday School session had a great start this past week.

The children heard the parable of “The Sower and the Seed,” and learned that God wants us to spread our “seeds” (or the message about his love for us) in all sorts of places, not just in the fertile soil.  While that might sound foolish at first thought, God wants us to remember that we are all on a harvest journey, in which everyone we meet who hasn’t heard the good news should be considered an opportunity.  We never know where that opportunity might be!

Children planted some mystery seeds to take home and watch what they turn into!  Thank you to Mrs. Adrean Kreig (with Hannah and Addison) for leading the lesson, and Mrs. Trudy Lehner for assisting.

The remaining lessons of this Summer Sunday School session will include the following parables:

July 22:  The Wise and Foolish Builders – Mrs. Trudy Lehner  (assisted by Mrs. Sue Felpel)

This parable, based on Matthew 7:24-27, takes a look at what it takes to build a house on rock and what happens to it in a storm, as compared to a house built in sand.

July 29:  The Great Banquet – Mrs. Ellie van Pelt (assisted by Mrs. Maureen Rizzi)

August 5:    The Lost Son – Mrs. Suzi O’Brien (assisted by Mrs. Maureen Rizzi)

August 12:   The Good Samaritan – Mrs. Suzi O’Brien  (assisted by Ms. Michele Kopp)

The children will attend the worship service beginning at 9:30 a.m. and will move to Room 104 in the Education Building for the lessons at about  9:45 a.m, and concluding at 10:30 a.m.  Children from ages 4 – Grade 8 are invited to attend whenever family schedules allow.
