Face masks

NRC cutters and sewists (that’s people who sew)  have joined forces with Schenectady’s MoonCatcher Project ( to provide fabric face masks for local hospitals and other organizations which are requesting these during the shortage of commercial face masks.

To date, we have provided nearly 500 sets of cut-out pieces and elastic for the project.   The effort continues, so if you’d like to join in, please contact Trudy Lehner ( for details.

We share with you this latest note of thanks from the MoonCatcher Team:

Dear Niskayuna reformed Church Women’s Fellowship Group,

Once again  I am so grateful for your  support of this mask project. To date we’ve given more than 1500 to hospitals, senior centers, food pantries, shelters, etc.
You are all rock stars.
Take care,
